Another railroad grade from the 1800's, this one built by Denver and Rio Grande, who were competing directly with the Denver, South Park and Pacific (which built the Apline Tunnel from section 3).
Long steady climb on graded gravel. Back up to the Continental Divide for the final time of this race.
At the end of this section you'll find the 4th Vapor Trail Aid Station and the satisfaction of knowing that you have climbed from below 9,000 feet to the Continental Divide for the final time of this race.
